The unique 33-month program of study at Frankford Hospital School of Nursing leads to a Diploma in Nursing. The diploma qualifies
the student to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Since the early 1970s the Frankford Hospital School of Nursing has been affiliated with the Pennsylvania State University. This affiliation allows students to take the college course work that is needed to obtain an RN diploma at the School of
Nursing. These credits also give students the opportunity to obtain an Associate Degree in Letters, Arts and Sciences with
their RN by only taking a few additional courses.
The Associate Degree provides a minimum of 72 college credits or a maximum of 80 college credits that are fully transferable
towards a BSN Degree. Opportunities to achieve the Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing are available through Thomas Jefferson University and Penn State World Campus. The availability of this program is a testament of Frankford’s commitment not only to its current students, but to the career
development of its alumni as well.
