Frankford Hospital - Torresdale is also an officially designated Level 2 Regional Resource Trauma Center. Patients with the
most serious injuries are brought to Torresdale by local emergency medical squads.
Frankford's Trauma Program provides state-of-the-art emergency trauma and critical care for injured patients 24 hours a day,
365 days a year. The trauma surgeon leads a multidisciplinary team comprised of Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery,
Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat), Anesthesia and other surgical and medicine specialties as needed for individual patient
care.
From time of injury through pre-hospital care, emergency room care, diagnostic work-up, operative care, critical care, recovery
and rehabilitation, the trauma team provides comprehensive care supplemented by many ancillary departments including care
management, cardio-respiratory care, nutritional services and pharmacy.
Frankford's Trauma Program also provides ongoing educational programs for staff and community regarding trauma prevention.
