Frankford Hospitals' Divison of Neurosurgery consists of six neurosurgeons who evaluate patients and operate at Bucks County,
Frankford and Torresdale. Neurotrauma is covered by five neurosurgeons at the Level II Trauma Center at Frankford Hospital
- Torresdale.
Neurosurgery is actively involved in cranial cases for tumors, hemorrhages, hydrocephalus and head trauma; spine work including
discectomy, tumor, stabilization problems, and peripheral nerve work; and procedures for pain management and carotid vascular
disease.
CT scanners, MRI and MRA capabilities, myelography, discography, angiography, sterotactic localization, intracranial pressure
monitoring and EEG monitoring are used in the evaluation and treatment of patients.
All three hospital locations have intensive care units, step-down units, short procedure units and physical therapy. Frankford
and Bucks County campuses offer rehabilitation units.
The Division of Neurosurgery also actively cooperates with neurology, general trauma, ear, nose and throat (otolaryngology),
pulmonary, internal medicine, and physical therapy in the care of patients.
