Norman L. Koven, M.D.
Chief, Division of Allergy and Immunology
Frankford Hospitals' Division of Allergy and Immunology provides diagnostic evaluation, education, and treatment in the fields
of allergy, immunology, and asthma.
An active, experienced group of board certified specialists provides high quality, personalized, cost-effective diagnosis
and care in the areas of hay fever, asthma, eczema, sinus disease, headaches, food allergy, hives, latex allergy, stinging
insect allergy, contact dermatitis, immune disorders, and allergic emergencies such as anaphylaxis. Highly trained physicians
and nurses administer state-of-the-art testing and treatment, including diagnostic allergy skin testing, patch testing, pulmonary
function testing, bronchial provocation testing, oral food and drug challenges, latex challenges, rhinolaryngoscopy, and allergy
immunotherapy (hyposensitization).
The physicians also provide in-patient consultations and management as well as participate in a number of clinical research
trials. Education is a key component of the Division's approach and focus for all patients, their families, and referring
physicians, and close collaboration with primary physicians in providing ongoing care helps to effectively manage the complex
needs of our patients.
