Neurosurgery

Aria Health's Division of Neurosurgery is actively involved in cranial cases for tumors, hemorrhages, hydrocephalus and head trauma; spine work including discectomy, tumor, stabilization problems, and peripheral nerve work; and procedures for pain management and carotid vascular disease.

  • Click here to learn more about how Aria recently joined Capital Health's Neuroscience Network to expand the availability of treatment for patients with neurological disorders.
  • As part this membership, board-certified neurosurgeon and U.S. Navy Reserve Captain, Joseph Edward Sherrill II, MD, has offices at the Torresdale and Bucks County Campuses.

CT scanners, MRI and MRA capabilities, myelography, discography, angiography, sterotactic localization, intracranial pressure monitoring and EEG monitoring are used in the evaluation and treatment of patients.

All three hospital campuses have intensive care units, step-down units, short procedure units and physical therapy. Frankford and Bucks County campuses offer rehabilitation units.

The Division of Neurosurgery also actively cooperates with neurology, general trauma, ear, nose and throat (otolaryngology), pulmonary, internal medicine, and physical therapy in the care of patients.
