Multidisciplinary Care

Patients who come to Frankford’s Cancer Program receive an individualized treatment plan developed by a team of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, primary care physicians, surgeons and radiologists. This multidisciplinary group meets on a weekly basis to review individual patient cases and develop specific treatment plans.

Frankford offers prostate seed implantation therapy (also called brachytherapy), a new form of radiation therapy for prostate cancer. This procedure involves inserting low-dose radioactive “seeds” into the prostate to administer localized radiation to the tumor. A urologist, radiation oncologist and a diagnostic radiologist work closely with the patient to create an individualized treatment plan.
