Frankford has a number of challenging volunteer opportunities for students age 14 and older who have finished eighth grade.
Many of our students have such a rewarding experience during our summer program that they continue volunteering their time
throughout the school year.
Local Teens Find Fulfillment in Volunteering
Northeast Philadelphia natives and lifelong friends Kristy Butler and Kimberly Coppock (pictured at right), both seniors at
Nazareth Academy High, have volunteered at Frankford Hospital - Torresdale for over a year - during the summer and through
the school year.
Both girls alternate shifts working at the Information Desk and Hospital Gift Shop. Kristy and Kimberly characterize their
volunteer experience as "rewarding," and choose to volunteer to "give back to their community."
Kristy Butler assists in the Hospital Gift Shop by stocking and maintaining the greeting cards.
